Rock Band 3: Localised Websites in United Kingdom, Germany, France and Sweden

MTV Games  and Harmonix Music Systems confirmed the launch of four websites catering to the European Rock Band fan base, in support of the coming release of Rock BandTM3. Rock Band 3 will be released 29 October in Europe and 28 October in Germany for Xbox 360 (MSRP £49.99), PlayStation 3 (MSRP £49.99), Nintendo Wii (MSRP /£39.99) and Nintendo DS (MSRP £24.99).

“The Rock Band community is one of the most vibrant in the world, and we’re pleased to give European Rock Band fans a localised place to go for news, forum postings and ecommerce,” said Roy Campbell, VP of MTV Games International. “We’re really looking forward to hearing from the international community, in their own voices.”

Rock Band: Going Country pack 04

Harmonix and MTV Games today announced that a nine pack of country songs from artists including Eric Church, Jamey Johnson, Lady Antebellum and more will be added next week to the Rock Band Music Store of downloadable content for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii.

With more than 400 artists, including Jimi Hendrix, The Who, AC/DC and Green Day, who are exclusive to Rock Band, as well as more than 1,580 songs available through the Rock Band platform and 70 million songs sold through its download store alone, Rock Band is the undisputed sales and content leader in the interactive music space, providing the deepest and best selection of artists, songs and albums.

Rock Band DLC additions for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii

Dierks Bentley signed to Capitol Records Nashville in 2003 and the same year released his self-titled debut album, which was certified platinum, along with his second album, Modern Day Drifter. Its follow-up, Long Trip Alone, was certified gold, and Dierks Bentley released his fourth album, Feel That Fire in February 2009. From these four albums, 14 singles have made it to the country singles charts, and seven of those have reached No. 1, including his debut single, “What Was I Thinkin’,” which will be available in the Rock Band Music Store next week.

Eric Church released his debut album, Sinners Like Me, on Capitol Records in 2006, producing four chart singles on the Billboard country charts. He went on to release his second album, 2009′s Carolina, which includes “Hell on the Heart” which became a Top 10 hit. “Hell on the Heart” will be available for Rock Band next week. (more…)

Tony Hawk: SHRED

“Tony Hawk: SHRED is all about experiencing over-the-top, almost unbelievable GO BIG moments throughout the game – the kind of tricks and stunts that we can only hope to achieve as our sports continue to evolve,” said Tony Hawk. “I’m also excited about including snowboarding in SHRED, because when we originally came up with the board motion-controller, we didn’t just have skateboarding in mind, and it’s nice to finally see that idea coming to fruition.”

There’s certainly no lounging around with Tony Hawk: SHRED in the family room. With the game’s innovative motion-controller board peripheral and exciting GO BIG gameplay, kids will be actively using their boundless energy while riding as any of SHRED’s pro skate and snowboarders – the full list including Tony Hawk, Lyn-z Adams Hawkins, Corey Duffel, Sean Malto, David Gonzalez, Geoff Rowley, Stevie Williams and Chaz Ortiz; and snowboarders Travis Rice, Louie Vito and Olympic Gold Medalist Torah Bright. Additionally, players will have access to Mii versions of all the pro athletes in the game on Wii, and can import their own Mii and Avatar characters in the Wii and Xbox 360 versions of the game! Whether it’s younger kids raring to just get on the board and pull off huge tricks, or older players craving some good ol’ fashioned friendly rivalry for the top score, Tony Hawk: SHRED offers an active, social gaming experience everyone can enjoy.

Tony Hawk: SHRED is in parallel development by two different studios: Robomodo for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3  and by Buzz Monkey for Wii. The game is rated “E” (Everyone – content that may be suitable for ages six and older) by the ESRB, and will be available at retail this holiday season as the gift that keeps on giving.

Rock Band: The Black Keys and Neon Trees make their debuts

American rock bands The Black Keys and Neon Trees will both make their debuts next week in the Rock Band Music Store of downloadable content for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii.

“We’re excited to be part of the Rock Band world because the game really introduces artists to young kids,” said Tyler Glenn, lead vocalist and keyboardist for Neon Trees. “Any video game introducing kids to The Replacements and old REM is something I can get behind.”

American blues-rock duo The Black Keys formed in 2001 in Ohio and have since released an impressive eight studio albums, including 2010’s Brothers, which debuted in May at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. The band’s music has been featured in films, including 2008’s RocknRolla, 2003’s School of Rock and 2009’s I Love You, Man; as well as television shows, including Dexter, Hung, Sons of Anarchy and Rescue Me. Next week, the band will make their debut in the Rock Band Music Store with a three pack of tracks. The Black Keys Pack 01 will feature “Strange Times” and “I Got Mine” from Attack & Release, the band’s fifth studio album, which debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard 200 when it was released in April 2008. “I Got Mine” was featured as No. 23 on The Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Best Songs of 2008. The pack will also feature “Your Touch” from 2006’s Magic Potion. The band is currently touring the United States and Canada.

Picked by Rolling Stone as an Artist of the Week, Neon Trees will also make their Rock Band debut next week with a three pack of songs. The band received notoriety when they were chosen to open for The Killers during their 2008 tour and put out their debut album this year. Three songs from that album, “Sins of My Youth,” “1983” and “Animal,” which cracked the Billboard Hot 100 and reached No.3 on the Billboard Alternative Rock chart, will be available as Neon Trees Pack 01 next week. The band is currently touring the United States with Paper Tongues and 30 Seconds to Mars.

DJ Hero 2 To feature the deck-spinning sounds of Tiesto

Having worked with the likes of Muse, Justin Timberlake, Jonsi from Sigur Ros, Flo Rida, Sean Kingston and Three 6 Mafia, performed for billions of fans at the opening ceremonies of the Athens Olympics and headlined the Coachella and Bonnaroo music festivals among others, Tiesto has earned his status as the world’s hottest DJ. The GRAMMY Nominee will be spinning for a new audience as he takes to the virtual ones and twos, delivering a pair of pulse-pounding exclusive mixes and joining the ever-growing roster of playable characters, including Deadmau5, David Guetta, DJ Qbert and others.
