BUZZ! Master Quiz

This summer, get ready to take the popular game show host BUZZ on the road with the release of BUZZ!™ Master Quiz for PSP® (PlayStation®Portable), the handheld entertainment system that offers gaming, web access, movies, music, photos and more.

Packing over 3,000 questions on topics including music, celebrities, TV, sport, science, nature, movies and more, BUZZ! Master Quiz puts gamer’s knowledge to the test at home or on the move. With six new round types specifically designed for PSP including the speed-is-of-the-essence ”Quickfire Challenge”, the picture-puzzler ”Picture This” and the mind-boggling ”Virus Challenge”’, each round also comes complete with pictures and videos.

The focus of BUZZ! has always been on social gaming and the PSP version is no different, with three exciting multiplayer modes ideal to play with friends and family. “Pass Around” is a mode that enables players to use one PSP and pass the system from player to player. In this mode, gamers can quiz their friends’ general knowledge wit and choose who to pass the PSP, adding a new tactical edge to gameplay.

Game sharing is also supported, where up to four players can connect multiple PSPs and share just one copy of the game in an effort to determine who can succeed in frenzied ”Fastest Finger” play. Additionally, Quiz Host mode enables up to six players to play against each other, with one taking control of the game to select and ask the questions. The Quiz Host runs the whole game, with the power to award (or even deduct) points however they see fit.

Not only does BUZZ! Master Quiz offer innovative multiplayer handheld quiz action, it also has more robust single player mode than previous BUZZ! games. This mode presents players with a series of 15 different quiz challenges designed to test all aspects of general knowledge. In each round, players can earn bronze, silver and gold medals for performance according to how many points they collect from correct answers. There is also a variety of special in-game trophies to collect according to how many correct questions the players has answered in a row, or how fast the players react.

Bomberman Blast (Wii)

Players Can Now Bomb It Up Against 8 Players With Online Multiplayer Combat And Mii Support

Hudson Entertainment, the North American publishing arm for HUDSON SOFT, today announced the official launch of Bomberman Blast, an all-new Bomberman available for digital download on WiiWare for the Wii. Retaining many of the classic features that fans of the award-winning series have come to love, such as online multiplayer battles and numerous arenas, Bomberman Blast also incorporates exciting new gameplay elements like Mii support and 8-person online play.

“We are thrilled to deliver Bomberman Blast to the WiiWare gamers,”
said Sabine Duvall, Vice President of Product Development at Hudson Entertainment. “Hardcore fans and casual gamers alike will enjoy this new rendition of classic Bomberman created specifically for play on the Wii with three new Wii-specific items and Miis.”

Bomberman Blast features 3 new shake-it-up items specifically created for play on the Wii. Each of these new items can be used by shaking the Wii Remote to add an entirely new aspect of play to multiplayer Bomberman battles. Players can use the Bomb Change to disguise themselves as a bomb, the Rocket to jump up high in the air to avoid bomb blasts and the Shield to block bomb blasts as long as they keep shaking the Wii Remote.

There are 10 unique level designs included in the game. Once all 10 levels have been played, gamers are able to unlock the ability to blow away the competition by using a Mii as their Bomberman. Various arenas are included, ranging from the Classic level to levels with unique and exciting twists including Hyper Feet, Bomb Bowling, and Potholes.

Players will be able to compete either solo or as part of a team against the best Bomberman players worldwide, as Bomberman Blast delivers 8-player multiplayer battles online. Players can bomb it up on one console or can compete against their friends, family, and even players from all over the world with deeply customizable Wi-Fi Battles over the Nintendo® Wi-Fi Connection. Players can also submit their scores and track them using the new Rankings feature.

With the release of Bomberman Blast on WiiWare, Hudson Entertainment will offer several online tournaments, including one that coincides with the game’s launch. The first tournament will be a live, online, head-to-head competition between 49 randomly-selected entrants, hosted by Hudson Entertainment. Registration for the tournament and an associated sweepstakes begins immediately and runs until 5:00 p.m. PST on October 3, 2008. The competition itself will take place starting at 2:00 p.m. PST on October 6, 2008. For more information on the upcoming tournaments and to register, players can visit www.Hudsonentertainment.com.

Bomberman Blast is rated E for Everyone by the Entertainment Software Rating Board.

About Bomberman

Originally launched in the US in 1987, the game captured gamers’ hearts with its simple yet challenging gameplay. With over 60 iterations on nearly all major consoles since then, and over 10 million units sold, winning accolades as the best multiplayer game of all time, this classic game has stood the test of time. Along the way, it also pioneered the “party game” genre, encouraging groups of 4 or more friends to duke it out in one room, and was the first series to contribute to Hudson’s reputation as the number one party game company.

Resident Evil 5 Fact Sheet

The biohazard threat has not ended: Just when it seemed that the menace of Resident Evil had been destroyed, along comes a new terror to send shivers down player’s spines. Chris Redfield, returning Resident Evil hero, has followed the path of the evil literally around the globe. After joining a new organization, Chris heads to Africa where the latest bioterrorism threat is literally transforming the people and animals of the city into mindless, maddened creatures. He is joined by a new partner, Sheva Alomar, who lends her strength, intelligence and sharp-shooting skills to the mission. In order to survive, Chris and Sheva must work together to take on the challenges of discovering the truth behind this evil plot. Utilizing a revolutionary new co-op mode of gameplay, players will be able to assume control of either Chris or Sheva and experience Resident Evil in new ways. In Resident Evil 5, Capcom will have players fearing the daylight as much as they have feared shadow in previous games.

Resident Evil 5

Co-producer and series veterans Jun Takeuchi (Lost Planet) and Masachicka Kawata (Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles) unleashes an unprecedented level of fear for the next generation in Resident Evil 5, the sequel to one of the highest-rated videogames in history, according to Metacritic.com and Gamerankings.com. Promising to revolutionize the series by delivering an unbelievable level of detail, realism and control, Resident Evil 5 is certain to bring new fans to the series. New technology developed specifically for the game, as well as incredible changes to both the gameplay and world of Resident Evil will make this a must-have game for gamers across the globe.

The latest in the Resident Evil series, which has sold over 34 million units since the original game was released in 1996, as well as spawned a multi-million dollar trilogy of films from Sony Pictures. Resident Evil 5 will revolutionize the Resident Evil series, just as Resident Evil 4 did.

  • Chris is joined by new character Sheva Alomar, an African special agent tasked with investigating the epidemic
  • 2 player co-op online gameplay means that players are not alone in their fight against the horror lurking around every corner
  • Simultaneous global release date for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on March 13, 2009
  • New enemies bring new challenges: speed and intelligence make adversaries as dangerous singly as they are in groups.
  • An arsenal of weapons at the player’s command to keep the evil at bay, including knives, pistols, machine guns, sniper rifles and more.
  • Lighting effects provide a new level of suspense in both harsh light and deepest shadow

But there is more than just pride at stake: players are competing for a range of great prizes from networking hardware manufacturer ZyXEL, who are sponsoring the tournament organised by the UK’s top professional gaming outfit, Team Dignitas. The competition is due to start on 4th October 2008 and will be the first Xbox tournament Team Dignitas has ever held.

The tournament will involve 128 players with each round being picked at random. The rules are simple but not for the faint-hearted. To create the best competitive settings there will be 8 competitors per-room, with 15-minute time limits, and unlimited kill points. Speed will be set at 110%, shield charge at 90% and battle rifle damage starting at 110%, with the hype v3.0 map being used all the way through the tournament. Due to the capability of Halo 3, players can record all matches and have their scores uploaded onto the Halo website for every round. It will also be great practice for ‘XL6’s’ free-for-all tournament scheduled for later this year.

James Harris, Senior Product Manager at ZyXEL says, “We are excited to be the headline sponsor of Team Dignitas’ first Xbox tournament. When gaming online, the stability and speed of the Internet connection can mean a difference in points or whether a player stays in the game. To help players ’stay connected to the action’, the winner of this tournament will benefit from the same professional, high-speed digital networking systems that Team Dignitas’ professionals use – enabling them to test their skills with gamers across the globe”

Marcus Rumsey, Team Dignitas 360 Squad Leader comments, “Team Dignitas is well known for supporting the gaming community. We are proud to be working with ZyXEL to hold this inaugural Halo 3 FFA tournament on Xbox 360. The UK Xbox 360 scene is huge. It will gladly welcome the tournament and of course the fantastic products on offer for the victor. The tournament winner is going to need to be a special player, and we look forward to seeing who can lead the pack.”

Contestants can enter by signing up on the Team Dignitas website and clicking a link to enter the tournament. A sign up thread will also appear on the ZyXEL website with a section for fixtures and results on the players’ forums. Players will be given full instructions about their timings for play through the Team Dignitas website. If there are any no-shows on that date, the missing player will forfeit their round.

The tournament victor will win an end-to-end digital home networking kit from ZyXEL. The kit will consist of:
